Design History: Meta-Review On the Academia by Sihua Huang

This book talks about the main concepts of design history knowledge. Chapter 1 discusses the background of the concepts of art history and design history, as well as the changes of the concepts in the contemporary period, and points out the differences of the concepts in the Chinese context. The Chapter 2 discusses the relevant concepts of traditional historical narrative and explains the main ways of Western grand narrative. Chapter 3 mainly shows the visual image of design history knowledge and shows the development trend of design history in a meta-review way. Chapter 4 further demonstrates the important knowledge about the design history in China and world and shows that the in Chinese contemporary design history is still in a state of being generated. Chapter 5 concludes the discussion of the book by summarizing the basic structure of design history knowledge worldwide and the various perspectives into which design history knowledge is drawn.
