THE BORROWED LIFE: A MEMOIR OF TWO CANCERS by Dr Vincent Wee
Synopsis
The Borrowed Life: A Memoir of Two Cancers A CEO, Shipmaster & Professor’s Journey from Invincibility to True Resilience You built empires, commanded oceans, shaped minds. You believed expertise made you untouchable. So did he. Dr. Vincent Wee was a high-achieving CEO, seasoned Shipmaster, and respected professor—until two devastating diagnoses shattered that illusion: liver cancer requiring a transplant and a “borrowed life,” followed by advanced prostate cancer demanding relentless vigilance. This is no polished success story. It’s a raw, unflinching logbook of surrender: • From lecture halls and boardrooms to sterile waiting rooms and infusion chairs • From commanding thousands to managing chemo, radiation, and daily survival • From armoured arrogance to fragile, authentic humanity Twice he fought. Twice he was forced to dismantle the identity he thought defined him. And twice he discovered strength he never knew he had—not in titles or control, but in profound acceptance, faith, and the quiet choice to keep going. Blending the precision of a logistics master with the empathy of a Certified Mental Wellness Coach, The Borrowed Life offers hard-won wisdom for anyone facing life’s uncharted storms—cancer, loss, burnout, or any crisis that strips you bare. If you’re navigating the unimaginable, this memoir is your compass. It proves resilience isn’t about never breaking—it’s about how you rebuild. I invite you aboard.
