Gold Glen by Richard Espy

A series of robberies in the city of Gold Glen has the police stymied and newly-minted journalist, Kathryn Carlyle, of the city’s major daily reporting on the seemingly unsolvable crimes. With every article she writes about the robberies the citizenry becomes ever more enthralled with the phenomenon of this bandit who in their eyes, because of his ability to foil the police, takes on an almost other-worldly aura, much to the dismay of city leaders. In the course of her reporting about the bandit and the robberies Kathryn begins to learn about the true nature of Gold Glen and the deeds and secrets of its most prominent citizens, which she learns they will do anything to keep hidden from her, their fellow citizens, and the world.
