This book was written with the intention of presenting the diversity of fishes found in Malaysia for both a scholarly and non-scholarly audience. In this edition, few improvements and changes have been made to assist the readers to better understand of the contents. The book presentation as not too academic is retained. Thus the classification and the morphological descriptions of species are brief, noting only the most pertinent features. This book, show fish species are arranged in classes, subclasses, order and families, and how they are related in terms of phylogeny (evolutionary lineage). The photographs provided that are intended to assist in quick identification of the various fishes found in the Malaysia waters was improved and updated. Opinion and feedback from various level of readers; academia, fish enthusiasm and students used in this second edition of the book are much appreciated and gave encouragement.
